Bodhi Linux 4.0.0 Beta and September Donation Totals

We are finally nearing the end of the 4.0.0 release cycle. If all goes as planned I will publish a final set of ISO images by the end of the month flagged as stable. These ISO images come with only one known issue and that is the file selector in the theme tool currently does not display selectable files. A work around for the time being is to click the “advanced” button to assign theme components.

This set of ISO images includes not only 32 and 64bit images that have been stripped down to under 700mb, but also a 32bit Legacy / non-PAE release to support older hardware as we always have. Other things to note in this release is that the default profile has had a number of improvements including:

  • Main Menu Face-lift
  • Improved Screenshot Module
  • Clipboard Manager Iteration
  • Better GTK / QT Application Integration
  • New Theme Selection

Existing Bodhi Linux 4.0.0 pre-release users will be able to upgrade their systems to their latest updates using the package manager. They will need to manually remove / reinstall the places-moksha package though as this was incorrectly packages prior to the beta release with a bad version number. To upgrade your system and fix the places module run the following commands in order:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

sudo apt-get remove places-moksha

sudo apt-get install bodhi-desktop
